About UHCC
United Hindu Congress Canada [UHCC] is a not-for-profit organization approved as a charity by O.P.G.T & M.G.S. Our vision is to promote Hindu Unity with our main objectives in Canada.
UHCC members must respect and care for each other, immaterial of your profession, wealth, or assets [“don’t ask - don’t tell “]. Humans are created equal and must be treated equally. This is a basic and familiar teaching of moralists, ethicists, and the world’s mainstream religions, above all it is a prerequisite concept for sentient and spiritual creatures like us in order to enjoy community and personal peace of mind and uphold peace with justice at national and global level.
We Hindus of Canada came from different geographical areas, speak many different languages and being exposed to many different cultural and traditional customs. We Hindus have accepted that our religion is Hinduism and our home country now is Canada . {We are Canadian Hindus} Hindus have migrated too many countries where we have prospered in all areas and made great contributions to those countries we chose to settle and have the privilege to create the environment and institutions where we can maintain our way of life and be close to our religious and cultural roots.
To discriminate among ourselves on the basis of caste or region you came from, is ugly and uncivilized human behavior which should be instinctively exposed and publicly rejected and condemn, as they usually spearhead negative campaigns against their own Hindu communities. Our community is growing fast and we continue to make major inroads in the areas of business, education, arts, finance and technology etc and are faced with the realization that we cannot continue to exist as pockets of people in Canada . We have reached a stage where we need to be united as one on all fronts.
It is the responsibility of all good individual Hindus to become involved in our welfare with one message that in Canada we are one united Hindu community. As such we cannot continue to act in isolation to address issues that can only be resolved as a united community working together. For some they need to change their attitude and behavior and let go the ego that some have that hampers Hindu unity on earth.
